Citadel of Namur
Castle of Namur in Belgium, in the city of the same name. This castle - the most significant building in the city. In the past, the citadel served as a strategic bastion survivors restructuring and many attacks. Another 3 - 4 centuries AD on the site of the Romans built a fortress to protect against the strengthening of the Germanic tribes. The castle was built on the basis of Roman fortifications in the 13th century. For centuries it was rebuilt several times, destroyed and rebuilt. So today this citadel does not look like a century ago.
The castle is situated on top of a mountain, surrounded by a park of 70 hectares and is a symbol and pride of the city of Namur.
