Rubens House

Name the great artist Peter Paul Rubens closely connected with the city  of Antwerp, where he lived for many years and where his famous mansion.
Construction of the house began in 1608 based on sketches by the master himself. And today the mansion is decorated with sculptures of Socrates, Plato, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius. Here in the studio of the famous artist's paintings were created, which are now a world heritage of art. The museum has preserved the atmosphere of the 17th century - leather furniture with gold ornaments, porcelain plates and many more luxuries. In the studio you can see Rubens chair with gold lettering on the reverse side: "Peter Paul Rubens, 1633," and in the garden - a small pavilion in the shape of an ancient temple.
The house-museum of Rubens kept his work "The Annunciation" and "Moorish king", as well as the artist's own collection, which includes paintings by Raphael, Titian, Pieter Brueghel, Jan van Eyck, as well as antique sculptures, medals, coins, precious stones , books and manuscripts.
